Is Learning Spanish Compulsory in Schools?
Online, February 14, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Truth be told, learning other languages can really be helpful. Not just in reading and writing but in interacting people from other parts of the world as well.
Also it can be quite fun. For instance, some students get to play games like solving puzzling and quizes in Spanish and do roleplay conversations with their teacher and one another. They may even win prizes for getting the answers right or just for participating.
Still all these is just the first step for them to understand Spanish. It is similiar to what they learn in kindergartens and primary schools.
As the student progresses to high school, college and even university, he will have to master the intermediate levels. Like how to understand, inspire and guide people who needed his or her help. Or even public speaking, working with people and managing them as a team. All of these will come together into play.
At the same time, they will learn how to compose essays and even songs entirely in Spanish while learning for a few more semesters.
Depending on their speed and level of understanding, it will take time for them to understand and apply the intermediate levels of mastering Spanish as a whole. They might obtain great grades and degrees. But in terms of building rapport, connecting and interacting with Spanish speaking people, they still have a long way to go.
Truth be told, it all boils down to people communicaton regardless of what language one learns and how good one is academically.
This is especially the case when doing businesses with Spanish businessmen or dating Spanish girls if given the chance. Because they have been living in Spain or been with Spanish speaking people longer, they certainly know more in communication other than just writing, reading and listening. Such as influencing and persuading others to listen to them.
Having said that, the ideal way to learn Spanish is from a teacher who not only knows the language from theory but from his or her personal experiences of interacting and building relationships with Spanish speaking people.
So back to the question of whether learning Spanish is compulsory in schools, the answer is yes. Not just Spanish but other languages as well. The more blingual a person becomes are, the more people he or she gets to interact and the more friends he or she make regardless of language, race or religion.
