Is Solar Energy a New Solution to Help the Poor Be Relieved of Poverty?
Solar energy is a new solution to help the poor be relieved of poverty. A village leader of a small town in Lu'an, in Eastern China, discussed his plan with the leading solar energy company, Leeka Corp., on implementing solar lamps in his village to bring benefits to his people.
CHANGZHOU CITY, China, July 1, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Leeka Corp's regional solar lamps showroom, in Anhui province, was visited today by Secretary Mr. Huang, the village leader of a small town in Lu'an in eastern China. Sales manager Mr. Zhang accepted and guided him on a tour for the latest solar lighting invention and discussed for two hours about his future plan on further implementing solar lamps to light up the 7,000-meter village road.
Lu'an is not the first county to respond to China’s policy to propagate green lighting and eco-friendly energy. Since last year, thousands of solar projects have been implemented and have brought the county's GDP to a new level. "The people there are very poor," Mr. Zhang said, "so why would they prefer solar energy products, which are priced a bit higher than traditional products?" Mr. Huang explained that they’re planning to choose solar energy as a solution to bring people from poverty to being rich, as solar panels can generate free electricity, which can save people a lot of money that can be used to invest in projects such as breeding poultry, scientific farming, aquaculture, and tourism. Secondly, people who have individual solar power plants can make an additional income by selling electricity to others to use; they could get a subsidy from the government also. Mr. Huang also explained that he is planning on using solar lights to light up the complete village road to increase productivity, people’s living standards and stimulate external population inflow.
Leeka Corp is a well-known Chinese enterprise in solar energy and Earth-green lighting solutions. In the outdoor lighting field, the company can provide a complete solution, including lamps and poles, the company is supplying products worldwide.

Mr. Huang also explained that the bumpy and rocky village roads are a problem for leading the villagers to get rich. They’re planning to light up the road completely so villagers can work later in the night. He said, "The village budget is limited; conversely, the wired streetlighting is more expensive. It’s difficult to dig up tunnels to bury cables, and the road needs to be rebuilt. It is not cost effective to bury cable and use traditional street-lighting."
Leeka Corp has been combining the perfect lighting of LED with solar. In the outdoor lighting field, the company can provide a complete solution, including lamps and poles, with a bunch of historical examples in hand. Sales manager Mr. Zhang provided clear guidelines to the village leader on how he could implement the project. He said, in the short term, solar lights seem to be a bit higher than traditional lighting, but in the long term, solar lights could bring more benefits and save more money.
