'Is There a Book Within You?' Presented by Gail Valeskie at Carter's Biz Café on Thursday, June 8, 2017

American Canyon, CA, June 5, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Gail Valeskie, known as The Virtual Wordsmith, will present “Is there a book within you?” this coming Thursday, June 8 from 6-8 p.m. The class will be given at Carter’s Biz Café, 1 Commandants Lane across from the Clock Tower in Benicia, California.

This 2-hour class will explore types of topics and styles of books a person may have always wanted to write, as well as how to use a book as a means to promote one’s business expertise. Details of what goes into writing and publishing a book will be presented. The following topics will be covered:

 “Is there a book within you?” will be answered by asking the 5 W’s:

• Who is your audience?
• What is your topic and/or purpose?
• When is your target completion date?
• Where do you want to publish it [i.e., what publishing house to self-publish]?  
• Why do you want to write your book?  [This will be based on the “what” answer.]

— The case for ebooks versus hardcover or softcover print-on-demand books

— Things to consider for publishing a book, with sample forms:

• Tips for titles that tell prospective readers what one’s book is about
• Format requirements for ebook versus print-on-demand
• Photographs and rights of usage for royalty-free images
• Proper use of galley proofs

— Some sources for self-publishing one’s book

— Some sources for writers
