It's Never Too Late to Find A New Path
One Woman's Celebration in the Pursuit of Passion and Purpose
Online, October 25, 2010 (Newswire.com) - With over fifteen years at one company, not even she could have guessed that the loss of a friend earlier this year would have inspired an entirely new life path.
"I want people to know that you can discover your true meaning at any age. At 61 now, I never knew my gift was poetry, and I never knew when that gift was going to arrive," said Carol Calkins, PhD, author of Bring Poetry to Life.
The beginning of 2010 marked a new path for Carol, when she started receiving poetry after the passing of a friend to cancer. Since January she has written over 400 poems.
With job losses, economic hardships, and record foreclosures, it's not always easy to find hope during these times. But sometimes hope is exactly what's needed.
"I'm now able to see poetry in everything that I do. My hope is that I can bring inspiration to people through my poetry, and also introduce poetry to people who may have forgotten about its beauty, or its healing messages" says Carol.
Carol is a great example of how your life could change in a blink of an eye. Nothing is permanent. Even during tough times, there could be a glimmer of hope just around the corner. A loss of a friend for Carol was the inspiration for change, for you it could be a job loss, a forced move, or some other hardship.
Ironically, most experts report that starting a new venture during a bad economy is the best time to do something new.
Carol released her first book Bring Poetry to Life in October and will be hosting a celebration event on Tuesday, November 9th at miniBar in Cherry Creek North in Denver, Colorado. The celebration will have book sales, book signings, door prizes and poetry readings.
