IValueHealth.NET Participates In The Launch Of The Euro Hepatitis Care Index

iValueHealth.NET is a Health related multilingual HUB platform where users can access basic medical information, health applications and connect with healthcare professionals in just 2 clicks.

iValueHealth.NET participated in the launch of the Euro Hepatitis Care Index which took place in Brussels, on November 6. The Euro Hepatitis Index 2012 is an initiative of ELPA (European Liver Patients Association) and compiles information about hepatitis healthcare in Europe. The Euro Hepatitis Care Index is considered by ELPA to be a milestone for the European hepatitis community. The methodology used in building the Euro Hepatitis Care Index was based on a solid study by questioning physicians, patients, clinics, healthcare providers and national health ministries on different aspect regarding hepatitis care services.

The Index displays a comprehensive image of how European countries are ranked with respect to the quality of hepatitis care delivery. From a patient's perspective, the index shows that there is still a high prevalence of viral hepatitis and a low prevention rate exacerbated by high inequality of access to treatment across European countries. Therefore, three main areas of improvement were identified during the meeting: lack of awareness among patients; limited access to testing and treatment; lack of prevalence data on viral hepatitis to keep track of infected patients and transmission risks. iValueHealth.NET platform responds to many of these challenges: it can help the hepatitis community with its knowledge base, can allow people to share their best practices, can contribute to raising awareness of the disease and can offer many analytical services to be carried out in real time.

At European level, solutions are expected to be brought through the design and implementation of national strategic hepatitis plans in as many countries as possible. To date, an estimated 23 million people live with chronic hepatitis in Europe. iValueHealth.NET aims to create common ground for partnership between public and private healthcare actors, bringing its key contribution in facilitating exchange on liver and other chronic diseases.

"iValueHealth.NET platform was launched in English and has attracted more than 60k users since its launch earlier this year. It will gradually be launched in other 5 other European languages by the end of the year", said Partner manager. "The platform is free and anyone can join. All you need to connect is you e-mail address ", she added.
