Jacob Arabov Attends Mikhail Gorbachev's 80th Birthday Celebrations

Online, April 12, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Jacob Arabov, more commonly known as the famous Jacob the Jeweler was recently seen with many other high profile guests, including Israeli President Shimon Peres and actor turned-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger at a benefit gala concert at Royal Albert Hall to celebrate the 80th birthday of former Soviet President Gorbachev. Mikhail Gorbachev is celebrated in the West, where he is credited as playing a pivotal role in ending the Cold War and freeing Eastern Europe from Soviet rule.

The concert hosted by actors Kevin Spacey and Sharon Stone, saw performances from Bryan Ferry, Welsh opera singer Katherine Jenkins and German rockers The Scorpions, who first played for Gorbachev at the Kremlin.

Tickets for the event ranged from £195 to £100,000, with the money raised going to The Gorbachev Foundation, Macmillan Cancer Support and The Raisa Foundation named after Gorbachev's late wife who died from leukemia at the age 67.

Gorbachev used the event to launch annual awards recognizing individuals who have changed the world.

It was the party of the year so far. Stars from around the world gathered at London's Royal Albert Hall to celebrate this birthday party with a lavish concert organized by Mikhail Gorbachev's granddaughters. Dame Shirley Bassey, Goldie Hawn, Kevin Spacey and Sharon Stone graced the Red Carpet at the extravagant 80th birthday gala to raise money for Mikhail Gorbachev Foundation, with special greetings provided by Bono, Bill Clinton and Sting.

Lighting up the red carpet wearing an elegant gown highlighted by Jacob & Co. diamond earrings was Russian born model/actress Milla Jovovich.
