Jacqueline's Appointment Is A Real Gem For Auction House

Midlands auction house appoint gemmologist Jacqueline Adams to head-up its Jewellery and Silver Department.

Midlands-based auction house, Biddle & Webb have appointed Jacqueline Adams FGA (Fellow of the Gemmological Association) as Head of the Jewellery & Silver Department.

Jacqueline has over 20 years experience as a specialist jewellery valuer. As a qualified gemmologist she has a particular interest in antique jewellery. She was on the Sotheby's team that handled the record breaking auction of the Duchess of Windsor's Jewels.

She also worked as a senior jewellery valuer and auctioneer for Phillips cataloguing their sales of important jewels in New York and Geneva, before going into work in senior positions in other UK 'high profile' auction houses.

Since 2001 Jacqueline has also run her own international consultancy business advising private clients on both the buying and selling of jewels.

Her expertise has also been enlisted as a knowledgeable and engaging key note speaker at various events, where she has given advice to audiences on what to look for in a piece of jewellery and how to make them work as an investment.

Jacqueline's appointment is part of Biddle & Webb's strategic expansion plans to grow the business organically as well as broaden their expertise in specific auction areas. The Midlands auction house will also be increasing the number of their specialist sales as part of their commitment to continually extend and improve levels of client services.

Biddle & Webb will now be holding three auctions of Fine Jewellery & Silver each year. In addition jewellery and silver will also be included at Biddle & Webb's bi-monthly antique sales.

The next auction of Fine Jewellery & Silver will be held on November 1st 2012. It will include some superb Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian pieces of jewellery.
