Jaipuria Institute Of Management Becomes The Centre Point Of Activity For Management Colleges In Indore Region With JAI UTSAV 2013

With more than 1000 participants from management colleges across the Indore region, and with a reach of more than one lakh, Jai Utsav 2013 turned out to be one of the most prominent events on the B-school horizon of Central India.

With more than 1000 participants from management colleges across the Indore region, and with a reach of more than one lakh, Jai Utsav 2013 turned out to be one of the most prominent events on the B-school horizon of Central India. Organised between the 9th and 16th of February 2013, Jai Utsav 2013 was organised to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst thefuture business leaders from management colleges of Indore and across the country. The mammoth participation drew sponsors likeBig FM, Central Mall, McDonalds, Gold Gym, Barbarian, KFC, Anil Publicity, New Jain Book Stall and Rajasthani Collection.

Jai Utsav2013 started with a healthy dose of enjoyment that attracted over 400 students from Jaipuria Indore, Jaipuria Jaipur, EMRC, IPS Academy, DAVV, Acropolis, Vaishnav, Vishisht, Medicaps, CH-IMC and many other management colleges from the Indore belt and Central India. The first two days witnessed as many as 26 competitions, such as theBusiness Plan, Documentary, Skit, Photography, RJ, Fashion Show,RangoSe Khelo(Rangoli), BujhoToh Jaaney (Dumb Charade on icons of management), Aao Business Karein(Business scenario simulation), BechkeDikhao,Dimaagki BattiJalao(Business Quiz),Bollywood Quiz,Best Out of Waste, Dance, Business Quiz, Jo DikheyWoBikey(Ad-mad show), Counter Strike, Volley Ball, Just a Minute and The Journalist. The judges for these competitions included a mix of seasoned professionals and academics. Every event came with a twist. For example, the simple Antakshari format was changed, and instead of the regular Bollywood songs, participating students from management colleges in Indore and other parts of India could only sing brand jingles.

The event that attracted maximum participation over the two days was 'SahiBolo Sabhi Bolo' - a debate competition on the highly engaging topic, 'Are social networking sites bringing people together or distancing them?' Many students of the participating management colleges from Indore and across the country were of the opinion that social networking sites did create emotional gaps between people. In the end, Pawan, Ruchi, Arpit and Ekta from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore, brought home the prestigious trophy.

The Jai Utsav also included a series of CSR initiatives like a Medical Camp in the rural belt of Indore, creativity competitions for schoolgirls and a de-littering campaign in Dewas Tekri (along with the staff of Kirloskar Brothers). The entrepreneurship workshop for village women,organised bythe faculty, students and staff of Jaipuria Indore, not only taught women how to make paper bags, but also connected them to numerous retail outlets in Indore for bulk orders.

There were many such events, bringing the power of innovation and entrepreneurship to home-makers ('First Teachers of Our Society' programme) and farmers. The students of Jaipuria Indore worked tirelessly to organise the DakachiyaHaat(Rural Fair) for small-scale entrepreneurs from seven neighbouring villages. More than 100 stall owners at the haat were taught how to reach out to the world through the Internet.

16th of February 2013,the concluding day of Jai Utsav, saw Jaipuria Indore hold its first ever HR Conclave on the subject of 'Grooming HR managers for the future'. The students from various management colleges in Indore witnessed a meaningful industry-academia dialogue on the
