Jason Thompson Joins Charity Basketball Game
A star basketball player gives back to families in need
Online, November 13, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Professional basketball player Jason Thompson will participate in the Goon Squad Classic Charity Basketball Game on November 20th at the UC Davis Pavilion at the Arc. The exhibition game, hosted by fellow team mate Donte` Greene, will unite several NBA star players to raise proceeds for local charities, including Shriners Hospital for Children, Save Ourselves Breast Cancer Organization and Crocker Riverside Elementary School.
In addition, the Jason Thompson Foundation is hosting a canned food drive to benefit the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services -a local, non-profit agency committed to serving individuals and families in need. "The food we donate will help provide meals for several families for Thanksgiving," says Thompson. Fans are encouraged to bring a canned good to the venue. In return they will receive a raffle ticket for the chance to win a prize during the game. Donation bins will be at the entrances of the building.
Tickets for the Goon Squad Classic are priced at $25 general admission, $50 lower level and $70 for floor seating. Doors open at 5:30pm and tip off starts promptly at 6:30pm. Buy your tickets today at the UC Davis Pavilion Box Office, Tickets.com or call (530) 752-1915.
