Jazz a New Vision Mood Swing

Online, July 2, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Neddy Smith caught a vision; it was to create compositions with up-lifting subtle melodies filled with energy and power that caters to a new generation of jazz listeners. The inspiration behind his new CD release, "Mood Swing" is derived from a deep spiritual source as well as the music of Thelonious Monk and a poem entitled 'The Little House'. Neddy hand-picked a team of musicians to accompany him for this concert at Firehouse12, July 11th, 2014. Neddy wants to create an invigorating musical event that will flow with excitement that's geared toward music lovers from various cultures around the world. The line-up of musicians for this concert are: Michiro Negishi (acoustic piano and multi-keyboards), Andrew DeNicola (Flute, alto, soprano, and tenor Sax), Marcel Blanchet (drums - acoustic & electronic percussion), David Davis (sax family plus electronic reed instruments), and Neddy Smith (upright/electric bass and vocals).

After many years performing and recording with the Eric Gail band as well as others, Neddy Smith's own music began taking on a life of its own with its driving rhythmic and moving improvisation and expressions..His music is multi-faceted talents range from being a musician, producer and educator. His prior recordings, 'Give It Up" and 'Liberated Woman' were the pre-cursor to the new sound of 'Mood Swing'. Mood Swing" is an extra-special musical offering to the New Jazz vision that is becoming very popular.
