JBC Online Writing Services Announces Successful Start To The Summer To Beat Cancer Fundraiser
The JBC Online writing services company is announcing the start of their Summer to Beat Cancer fundraising event which will donate hair for wigs for cancer patients, and to raise funds for research.
Online, June 25, 2011 (Newswire.com) - JBC Online writing services has announced their latest "We Care" initiative. The JBC Online Summer to Beat Cancer, the largest and most recent of the company's charity efforts, has begun as of June 21 and will run through the entire season, until September 22. The fundraiser is a multi-level event that allows the organization's friends and customers to make a number of efforts to help support cancer charities.
Owner of the JBC Online writing services company, Julie Campbell, has announced that at the end of the event, she will be cutting off a minimum of 8 inches of her hair's length in order to donate it to Pantene Pro-V "Beautiful Lengths", which collects hair to be used to make wigs for people who have lost their hair as a result of cancer and its treatments.
Ms. Campbell is urging others to join her in making a difference in the fight against cancer. She is requesting donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS). In support of Ms. Campbell's efforts, JBC Online writing services will be donating a dollar from every page written through the service packages ordered on the website throughout the event. Ms. Campbell is also encouraging others to join the JBC Online Summer to Beat Cancer team and either cut their own hair to donate it, or help raise funds for the CCS - or both.
She admitted that she was struggling to part with her locks, but explained in a statement to supporters of the cause that "I've been thinking about what a struggle I'm feeling about cutting my hair (all vanity!)...and in doing so, the importance of this type of effort hit home. If I am having a hard time thinking about cutting some of my super-long hair, I can't (or don't want to) fathom how people feel when they lose their hair involuntarily from cancer treatments." She added that "this is a great and important cause - much more so than I even realized from the start."
Though JBC Online writing services takes part in regular donations and fundraising events through their We Care program, this most recent event is the largest in the company's history.
Further information about the event is available at the official website at http://www.JBConlineEpublishing.com. Donations are being accepted at the CCS JBC Online Summer to Beat Cancer fundraiser page (http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR/Thirdpartyevent/IFE_ON_CommunityPartnerships_?px=4186046&pg=personal&fr_id=9750). The event also has a Facebook group, where people are welcome to join to hear the latest news and updates, add their own messages of support, or use the link to follow the progress of the donations to the CCS.
