Jean Dujardin Nominated For Oscars
Online, February 22, 2012 (Newswire.com) - With 84th Academy Awards just around the corner, there is a rage among the fans of the actors and actresses nominated for various categories as to who would bag the prize. This time for the category of the lead actor we have the nominees of Jean Dujardin, Gary Oldman, George Clooney and Demian Bichir. The names of the nominees were announced this Tuesday morning.
Clooney seems to be the frontrunner in this race of bagging the lead actor award as he has already taken home last week a Golden Globe for his excellent performance in the movie of "Descendants". It happens to be an Alexander Payne's film based on a family drama which is also nominated for "Best Picture".
Dujardin, a French actor has full chances of beating Clooney in this category and become the winner. He has been nominated in the Oscars for the first time in the lead actor category. This nomination falls in his portfolio because of his stupendous character named George Valentin, played by him who is a quiet screen superstar who faces a failure in his career due to the onset of talkies. He succeeded in winning the award of Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival for the black-and-white calm movie and has also been the recipient of the Golden Globe Award for lead actor in a comical motion picture or musical.
Brad Pitt has also been nominated for the lead actor position for the character played by him named Billy Beane who is a general manager in "Moneyball", a baseball drama. There is another nominee, British actor Oldman, who has been nominated for the first time in the Oscars. The character of a spy played by him in "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" has brought this nomination to him. All we can do is to wait and watch who takes home the award. In rising speculations, time is the better judge.
