JETprotect Corporation introduces remote VFR™ radar detection system.

JETprotect, an innovator in the field of surveillance equipment and analytics, announced today the release of their newest product - VFR™, Virtual Fence Radar. VFR™ operates on 75 watts and can be installed miles from the main facility and monitor up to 9 square miles to detect, track and slew cameras to the points breached.

"This security solution is best utilized in situations where there is a large area to protect, good lines of sight at the perimeter, and there is a need to detect approaching threats from a considerable distance," said Greg Johnston, CEO of JETprotect. " VFR™ is autonomous and installed as either an adjunct to an existing security system or part of our suite of automated security solutions."

VFR™ is the most cost effective means to detect intruders any time of the day in any weather. Its low power usage enables the system to use renewable energy sources and cut the trenching costs usually needed for this type of detection technology. The system includes an EP1™ EDGE Processor, Ethernet radio, power plant and radar-analytics software with an XML DoD ICD010x interface. VFR™ forms a security fabric of over the property and perimeter.

VFR™ 'looks' out in a 360 degree sweep to a distance of 2,800 meters (approximately 1.7 mile radius), rotating at 1 second intervals. If an object is detected by the radar sweep, the rules-based analytics will determine if it portends a threat to the protected assets. By determining the object's geolocation, size, bearing and local velocity, the analytics based Cortex™ will direct other sensors/cameras to that view area to further refine and detail the probable threat. The pan/tilt/zoom cameras will lock to the candidate object and follow it from VFR™ cueing. At a programmed critical point, VFR will alert the central station monitoring and security personnel with live video and metrics.

Chuck Scifers, Director of Business Development said that their initial market is for large surface-area facilities that require constant, vigilant security surveillance such as oil refineries, pipelines, defense installations, large solar power farms and personal estates. The JETprotect VFR solution provides all-weather, cost effective "first-alert" solution for protection of vulnerable facilities.
