Jewellery Quarter-based Badges Plus Wins Major NSPCC Contract

Birmingham-based Badges Plus, the UK's largest manufacturer of badges, has won a significant new contract to supply badges and flags to children's charity the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).

Birmingham-based Badges Plus, the UK's largest manufacturer of badges, has won a significant new contract to supply badges and flags to children's charity the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).

It is the first commission from the nationwide charity and directors at the firm, which is based in the heart of the city's Jewellery Quarter, hope the new association will help to strengthen its charity customer base.

Badges Plus, which is based in Legge Lane, has been asked to supply thousands of campaign badges for the NSPCC's Full Stop campaign, counter display boxes and hand flags, as well as PVC badges for ChildLine.

Associate Director Rob James said the new contract was a coup for the company, which has more than 30 years' experience in supplying schools, trade unions, charities and the public sector with badges, lanyards, wristbands and associated goods.

"This is a big contract for us and we are very pleased to be working with a charity of such calibre," he said.

"We've supplied many charities with merchandise over the years, including the RSPCA and Scope, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to work with the NSPCC to create a range of high quality goods that are designed and manufactured here in Birmingham's historical Jewellery Quarter."

Mr James said that despite the recession Badges Plus was continuing to grow. It has taken on three new members of staff to accommodate the increase in orders from companies, trade unions and schools that are keen to order from a UK-based manufacturer that offers a free custom design service, competitive prices and high quality goods.

"The company is growing and so is our turnover because more people appreciate the fact that we manufacture in our factory here in the UK and can offer not only a huge range of personalised products, but thousands of colour combinations, too," he explained.

Sophisticated manufacturing technology enables Badges Plus to offer a wide range of finishes and fittings in many materials, styles and colours using the Pantone Colour Matching System.
Steve Hannah, of the NSPCC, said the organisation had no hesitation in commissioning Badges Plus.

"The NSPCC and ChildLine have a large requirement for promotional merchandise, especially pin badges," he said.

"Badges Plus has a great reputation and a wide range of experience across a multitude of materials and we have been very happy with the quality and attention to detail in all that they have produced."

"Its sales team has gone out of its way to provide solutions to our needs, producing and delivering quickly and efficiently. Cost-wise we find them better than sourcing from the Far East, and being UK based this is no easy feat. I would have no trouble recommending them to anyone, charity sector or not."

Badges Plus works with companies and organisations from a wide range of sectors and prides itself on supplying high quality, personalised goods, designed and manufactured by a skilled team in Birmingham's famous Jewellery Quarter.
