Jewish Music Made More Inspiring by SoulAviv
Online, October 4, 2010 (Newswire.com) - "The audience is clapping it's hands and dancing in the pews and aisles to the sounds of soul and gospel. A Baptist Church in the Deep South? Guess again-it's a synagogue in Southern California, and the music is being performed by SoulAviv," the Santa Barbara News Press enthuses about SoulAviv.
Jewish gatherings aim to create an environment that promotes spirituality and social activity among Jewish children and adults alike. All too often these services can become solemn gatherings with monotonous liturgy and prayers. SoulAviv's Jewish soul gospel music can help inspire meaningful sharing of thoughts and prayers, and ultimately establish a strong new network of Jewish community.
Formed in 2007, SoulAviv is a four-person vocal group from Santa Barbara, California. In three short years, they have performed all over North America at synagogues, JCC's, conferences, college campuses, and Jewish festivals. Singing in Hebrew and English, their unique brand of Jewish music is infused with the sounds of folk, Motown, gospel, Memphis soul, and the great harmony groups of the 60's and 70's.
Recently, SoulAviv was selected as one of only 24 ensembles worldwide to compete in the 2010 International Jewish Music Festival in Amsterdam in October.
SoulAviv's website, www.soulaviv.com, chronicles the group's zeal for Jewish music, as seen in videos of their performances, and heard in their recordings. Visitors can also browse the website for articles, news and photos of the group, as well as their performance schedules. By signing up to the email list at SoulAviv.com, visitors will get a free song and can keep up on SoulAviv's touring schedule and new music releases.
