Online, September 1, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Joan L. Bergstrom, MD, recently graduated from Texas Tech University on August 6, 2011 with a degree of Master of Business Administration. Dr. Bergstrom founded Women's Health Services, an all female Ob-Gyn practice, in 1986. She has been in practice in Arlington, Texas for 26 years. She is currently the President-Elect of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital Medical Staff and will begin a two year term as President of the Medical Staff in 2012.
Dr. Bergstrom was elected to the AISD Board of Trustees serving a three year term from 1993-1996. She is a founder of the AISD Education Foundation. In 1996, Dr. Bergstrom designed and built The Sanford House Inn and Spa. She currently serves as the Chairman of the Central Arlington Neighborhood Strategic Area Committee for the downtown district.
Dr. Bergstrom served as the Chairman of the Arlington Memorial Hospital Ob-Gyn Department from 1999-2001. She is a Fellow in the American College of Ob-Gyn, a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, and served as President of the Fort Worth-Arlington OB-GYN Association from 2003-2004 and 2008-2009. She and her husband, Dr. John McDonald, have three daughters. Although she grew up in the Midwest, Dr. Bergstrom steadfastly believes that Arlington, Texas, is the best place in the world to live.
Women's Health Services is an all female practice providing obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) services in Arlington, TX.
