He has worked with a diverse population of students over the course of his career. He places an emphasis on continuing to learn about the education field and has taken various advanced learning classes relating to both general education and special education. Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate and a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. In his career, he has implemented, maintained and created 16 academic course offerings in the software program Plato for the Alternative Learning Center (ALU). He wrote goals and objectives for high school students in the Alternative Program for students varying in ages of 15 to 21. He established and enforced rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students while utilizing behavior intervention strategies. He taught socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement. He has worked successfully with challenging behaviors and academic needs.
