Online, October 15, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Joker figure creator, Jerry Robinson, was only seventeen when he created the larger-than-life supervillian. Robinson was vacationing in the Poconos during the summer between high school and college where he met Bob Kane who had just finished the Detective Comics No. 27, which included the first appearance of Batman. Kane had noticed Robinson's drawings on his jacket and the two got to talking.
Robinson later switched to Columbia University in order to work closely with Kane on Batman. It was a heady time for the budding illustrator, "We really lived, ate, drank and slept Batman - ideas, characters and stories," he said.
