HARTFORD, Conn., January 27, 2020 (Newswire.com) - The Jordan Porco Foundation, a Hartford-based organization promoting mental health among young adults, announces the newest members appointed to their Board of Directors:
Monique R. Polidoro, Partner, Rogin Nassau, LLC
Jill Cavanagh, MBA, Global Director, Partner Communications, Apple
Vittoria Pace, MBA, Vice President, Personal Lines, Auto and Property, The Hartford
Blake Schnirring, Personal Trainer, Former Regional Business Developer, Westport
“The mission of the Jordon Porco Foundation is of critical importance - and, frankly, gaining more importance every day. The programs and activities offered are real and tangible ways to offer much-needed support to young people today,” said Jill Cavanagh, Global Director, Partner Communications.
The Jordan Porco Foundation’s programs have impacted over 100,000 college students. But they know there are so many more that need help. The dedication and support of the new board members will help to ensure the Jordan Porco Foundation can continue keeping pace with the overwhelming need for their programs. In addition, the new board will help expand the Foundation’s 4 What’s Next primary prevention program that teaches psychological resiliency in teenagers.
“We are honored to be able to work with these new individuals. Their professional and personal experience, coupled with passion for this work, will help us grow and expand our footprint across the country to reach more students,” said Marisa Giarnella-Porco, Co-Founder and CEO, Jordan Porco Foundation.
Despite the success, many more young adults need their programs. A recent program participant told the Jordan Porco Foundation, “As a mentally ill student who has been suicidal, Fresh Check Day let me know that there are people who will help me and not judge me, and that made me feel safe.” Too many young people continue to struggle with mental health issues and tragically die by suicide. The Foundation’s board understands how crucial community support is in helping bring more lifesaving programs to schools and communities across the country. They’ve taken the pledge to be “In It For Life,” showing their commitment to the Jordan Porco Foundation’s mission to prevent suicide, promote mental health, and create a message of hope for young adults.
