Josh Poole: Collegiate World Skeet Shooting Champion Not Even A College Freshman Yet
18-Year-Old Breaks Two World Records in Competitive Skeet Shooting. Now Hopes to Compete on U.S. Olympic Team in 2016.
Online, August 22, 2013 (Newswire.com) - By shooting a perfect score of 500/500, 18-year-old Josh Poole claimed four gold medals, was named the High Overall Champion and set two new world records at the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) Collegiate World Championship. He is not only the youngest person to achieve this score at the tournament, but also the only person to do so.
Josh is a native Central Texan who was ranked number one nationwide last year in the NSSA junior category. Now, the 2013 Crawford High graduate moves on to San Antonio where he was fiercely recruited to join the Trinity University Trap and Skeet program.
He began target shooting at age five, and dreams of competing on the 2016 U.S. Olympic Shooting Team in Rio De Janeiro. By working with elite shooting Trinity Trap and Skeet coach Van Boerner, Josh is 'setting his sights' on achieving that goal.
