Judi Sheppard Missett Honored by Enterprising Women and Women in Fitness Association
CARLSBAD, Calif., March 26, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Jazzercise Inc. founder and CEO Judi Sheppard Missett was twice honored this month by top organizations that support women both in business and in the fitness industry.
Enterprising Women, the United States' only women-owned magazine published exclusively for women business owners, acknowledged Sheppard Missett’s contribution to women in business as the franchisor to 8,300 predominantly female franchisees with their 2018 Legacy Award. The 16th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration & Conference was held from Sunday, March 4, to Tuesday, March 6, at The Four Seasons Hotel in Miami, Florida. Dr. Marsha Firestone, president and founder of Women Presidents Organization, and Monica Smiley, publisher and CEO of Enterprising Women magazine, introduced her to a crowd of women entrepreneurs. Sheppard Missett acknowledged that she’s been fortunate in her career to have the support of other women and cited that passion, partnered with purpose, can lead to bountiful success. “When you’re motivated by doing something for the greater good, success follows that,” she remarked.
On March 22, 2018, Sheppard Missett was recognized by the Women in Fitness Association (WIFA) for creating and shaping the fitness industry. WIFA CEO and founder Lindsey Rainwater honored Sheppard Missett with one of six Founding Mother Awards at a private reception at the Omni Hotel during the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) convention in San Diego, California. Other honorees included Joy Prouty, Candice Copeland Brooks, Linda Shelton, Lynne Brick and Molly Fox.
