June Is National Men's Health Month
The health of men is often overlooked. Women typically dominate the market. Men do have unique health concerns that need to be dealt with. Take this month to learn about health and help the men in our lives live long, happy lives, free of problems.
Online, June 7, 2011 (Newswire.com) - When it comes to health, women get all the attention. So, we should not forget the other half of the human population, the men during June. Since this is National Men's Health Month, we should take the time to celebrate the advances in medicine that help men live longer.
There are very few diseases that are reserved just for men, among them lists the popular prostate cancer, testicular cancer and erectile dysfunction. Men are also on the receiving end of more severe heart attacks, debilitating strokes and in some cases cancer risks.
Just because men have fewer unique health concerns it doesn't mean that they have any less. Things like breast cancer, estrogen disorders and hormonal function are also a concern for men. In fact about a quarter of all breast cancer cases occur in men.
One of the best ways to help our men live longer and healthier is to help with good food choices. Throughout human history women have been in charge of the cooking. This has left some men either unwilling or unable to cook wholesome large meals, use spices effectively or use a lot of vegetables. It takes a strong man to embrace cooking and know the simple joy of a flavorful dish of vegetables and spices.
Keeping healthy only involves a couple of quick steps. The first is to eat lots of wholesome vegetables and fruits. The second is to eat good quality or cuts of meat. Finally keep processed foods and fast foods at a minimum level. This is the first big step in getting healthy.
