JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT TO BENEFIT FROM "HOW TO WOW! NOW" SEMINAR

COLUMBUS, Ohio (March 29, 2010) - mywebWOW!com proudly announces that it has chosen Junior Achievement of Central Ohio (JACO) as the recipient of a portion of the proceeds from its upcoming How to WOW! Now spring seminar, on April 29, 2010.

Junior Achievement (JA) teaches children from elementary school to high school the same skills the How to WOW! Now seminar will be teaching small business owners, namely how to plan and finance your business, how to market your product or service, and how to overcome real world challenges in today's global economy. Junior Achievement, founded in 1919, is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students about entrepreneurship and financial literacy through hands-on programs. Their goal is to help students "understand the life of business and the business of life."

JACO is a partnership between community businesses, educators and volunteers. Mike Davis, President of JACO, says one of his goals is that students who go through the Junior Achievement program will "understand finances and our economy in a materially different way than they have in the past." It is a goal companies like mywebWOW!com, which has seen tremendous growth through website design, search engine optimization, and online social media, understands.

Junior Achievement offers a program called BizTown that provides students with real-world business experience to better understand economic concepts. Students learn responsibility, experience leadership opportunities and practice decision-making skills as a team. The program includes a four-week curriculum that is taught in the classroom, followed by a full day in Junior Achievement's BizTown - where students are able to run 14 "mock" businesses and government offices including a bank, newspaper and radio station.

"Seeing Biz Town in action blew me away," Andrew Catapano, CEO of mywebWOW!com said after a recent visit. "I saw 5th and 6th graders negotiating with each other, learning how to balance a checkbook, and even how to market their product when they desperately needed cash in order to grow. The funny thing is, this is what we do everyday as business owners. They are getting real-life experience. I was amazed at how "into it" each child was, how much they were learning and enjoying the experience. Every child should get to experience this."

At the How to WOW! Now seminar, JACO students will be participating in the event by helping with set-up, guest registration, and by awarding door prizes to attendees. They will get to interact with Columbus area small business owners, as well as learn business tips and tricks from the keynote speakers.

"We need more support from companies like mywebWOW!com which make donations from their fundraising events and seminars and volunteer their time by working with the children at our Biz Town facility," said Tracy Pabst, director of special events and development at Junior Achievement. "Companies like mywebWOW!com fuel the resources needed to make our program possible and to bring hands-on education to our students."

The How to WOW! Now seminar, featuring keynote speakers Gabe Spiegel, Ryan Bauer, Shelley Moore, Bruce Heinemann and Andrew Catapano will take place April 29 from 6-9 p.m. at the downtown Courtyard by Marriott, located at 35 W. Spring St. The event is $45, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to JACO. To register for the event, please visit howtoWOWnow.eventbrite.com. For questions about the event or sponsorship inquiries, please call the mywebWOW!com office at (614) 725-5345 or e-mail [email protected].
