"I think what has made the film resonate with audiences is how the fringe, yet near real world, science of mind reading presents both issues around privacy and the unknowns of past life experiences."
Mark Lund, writer/director
“It’s hard to believe it has been nearly two years since Justice Is Mind had its world premiere in Albany,” said Lund. “As we produced most of the film in central Massachusetts in 2012, it seems fitting that we present this special event second anniversary screening in Sturbridge. This will be our third screening with Cinemagic. They are wonderfully supportive of independent filmmakers.”
Set in the near future where advanced MRI technology can read your memory, Justice Is Mind follows businessman and restaurant owner Henri Miller who has been afflicted with unexplained headaches since childhood. When he has the new FVMRI procedure and it reveals that he has allegedly shot and killed two people, the trial of the century begins in which Miller is faced with his own memory at trial. But all is not as it seems as a dark family secret, held by Henri’s minister father Joseph, reveals itself in the courtroom.
“I think what has made the film resonate with audiences is how the fringe, yet near real world, science of mind reading presents both issues around privacy and the unknowns of past life experiences,” said Lund “In the sequel, these areas are amplified and intersect with certain intelligence agencies and the military.”
Since its release, Justice Is Mind has met with scores of positive reviews. “A psychological thriller, which develops slowly and then grips you with its logical twists and mysteries, haunting you afterward," – Barnstable Patriot. “So much intelligence in the dialogue,” – Unsung Films. “The characters…are strong and believable,” – Frisco Kid at the Movies. In the sequel In Mind We Trust, stolen mind reading technology from the trial of the century reveals a worldwide surveillance program and solves one of the greatest mysteries of World War II. With the screenplay and business plan for the sequel completed, Lund is presenting the project for development.
