Jyoti For Kids - A Meditative Technique of Purification by the Light
Online, June 23, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The meditative technique outlined in this book, invites the child to explore the wealth and wonder of his inner world, and to discover the pure beauty which naturally exists within and in the world which surrounds him. It is accompanied by a softly narrated CD, so that the child feels that he is guided step-by-step along this active visualization.
Practicing the Jyoti will help the child improve his concentration, boost his self-confidence and self-esteem, engendering a calm feeling of well-being. Jyoti can also be of aid to that special child who is experiencing certain academic difficulties, tough relationships, or wearisome health problems.
Through this original visual meditation the child will gradually make contact with his friend the Light, which in turn, will entertain more positive thoughts about himself, others, and his environment as a whole. After all, Jyoti is a Sanskrit term which signifies 'Light'. For 5-12 year olds.
A book that inspired...
Having practiced the Jyoti (for adults) for a few years, and being familiar with its potential benefits first hand, a social worker had the idea to adapt this technique for her clientele of sick children. One day, while narrating to one of her young patients, the father of this child asked for pencil and paper to note the steps for this visualization that was so helpful for his child. Encouraged by these positive results, she proposed a Jyoti for kids edition to Orange Palm Publications... and this is how this wonderful adventure took form.
