Karate World In New Providence Develops Self-Protection Class For Scout Troops

Online, May 19, 2010 (Newswire.com) - SUMMIT NJ, BERKELEY HEIGHTS NJ, CHATHAM NJ, NEW PROVIDENCE NJ - Karate World - Martial Arts for Life, a martial arts school located at 1260 Springfield Ave., in New Providence has developed a special self-protection and life skills program for scout troops. The proprietary program is designed for Boy Scout, Cub Scout, Girl Scout, Daisies, and Brownie troops in the New Providence, NJ area. Karate World also hosts scout troops from Summit NJ, Berkeley Heights NJ, Chatham NJ, Gillette NJ, and surrounding areas in Union County, Morris County, and Somerset County.

The "Karate for Scouts" program is designed to be delivered to scout troops on site at Karate World's facility in The Village Shopping Center in New Providence, where instructors and staff can deliver self-protection strategies and life skills to troops in a 45 minute class format.

Master Rich Brugger, who owns and operates Karate World - Martial Arts for Life with his wife Michelle stated, "When we opened our school back in 2005 we made a decision to volunteer our time and facilities to community groups such as the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts whenever possible. We believe that there is a definite parallel between the character education and values taught in the martial arts and those taught in organizations such as the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts." Since 2005, dozens of scout troops (and hundreds of children) have visited Karate World and participated in special classes designed to introduce self-protection concepts and the values of martial arts such as honesty, respect, courtesy, self-control & integrity.
