Karbone Appoints Rouba Farah as Director
Farah's responsibilities will include participation in Karbone's business channels and business development.
Online, February 18, 2010 (Newswire.com) - [NEW YORK] - Karbone announced today that Rouba Farah has joined as director. Karbone is a full-service environmental commodities brokerage, project finance and carbon advisory firm with a core focus on renewable energy and emissions. As part of Karbone's executive management team, Ms. Farah will play a key role in all of the firm's business groups while drawing on her extensive experience in environmental finance to offer thought leadership and expert counsel to clients. Her responsibilities will include business development and participation in all of Karbone's business channels at the management level.
Ms. Farah joins Karbone's already strong management team that includes company founder and Executive Director Izzet Bensusan and Managing Director Richard Weihe. The team will work closely together to drive the growth of the company and continue to strengthen its reputation as a leader in the environmental finance and emissions marketplace.

Prior to joining Karbone, Ms. Farah served as vice president and business manager for Global Environmental Markets (GEM) within BNY Mellon where she headed the efforts of the launch of the GEM product globally. Her group focused on providing custody, escrow and trade settlement services for various types of carbon credits and allowances, both voluntary and regulated, launching BNY Mellon's environmental trade settlement platform and implementing controls to meet all audit, risk and compliance requirements and guidelines. Ms. Farah was a key player in major innovative environmental projects as well as business development initiatives related to environmental finance.
Ms. Farah joined BNY Mellon in 2004 as a team leader in the International Finance group, after having held various corporate trust roles at firms such as Bankers Trust/Deutsche Bank and US Bancorp. Ms. Farah holds a Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Business Economics from the City College of New York.
