Katonah Art Center Comforts Others By Serving Comfort Food
Chili and Charity to warm your heart, all in a winter wonderland
Online, January 18, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The Katonah Art Center will host its First Annual Chill Out Scholarship Fundraiser Sunday, February 12, from 11:00AM-2:00PM. Participants will choose a pottery bowl(theirs to keep) to fill with chili or macaroni and cheese. All proceeds will go to the KAC scholarship fund for underprivileged children.
"This is an easy and fun way to give back to the community" says Loren Anderson, the founder and director of the KAC. "And it's a great way to keep warm on a cold February evening. Personally, I'll be having the chili and can't wait to pick out a beautiful new bowl."
The front lawn of the Katonah Art Center will, weather permitting, be transformed into an igloo and ice sculpture garden created by artists-students and instructors-of the Katonah Art Center. Participants will be comforted by the warm food and the knowledge that they'll be helping others, all while seeing this beautiful artist-created winter wonderland.
Tickets to the event cost $15 for adults and $10 for children. All funds will be contributed to the KAC scholarship, which lets all children be artists. Snowdate is February 18.
