Katy Perry's Indian Wedding - Entertainment Tonight Turns to Working Brides For Details

Local Indian wedding planner is called on for her expert opinion regarding the Punjabi-esque nuptials

Calling all brides - is your heart melting over the idea of the hyper-romantic Indian wedding taking place between comedian Russel Brand and singer Katy Perry? Most of the world is ablaze with admiration over the strange and wondrous events that will take place during the week of festivities.

So much so that Entertainment Tonight took notice and wasn't about to let the soon-to-be-married couple get away without a t.v. spot. But an Indian Wedding isn't a common occurrence and our western culture is sometimes struggling to keep up with the cultural extravaganzas that other nations are capable of.

The event is being held in India, and the two love-birds recently flew into the Japiur Airport where Katy Perry was spotted wearing a nath (an Indian bridal nose ring). The festivities will last the course of the week and will lead up to the big day on Saturday at the Rambagh Palace - the same location where Russel proposed to Katy Perry New Year's of last year.

Entertain Tonight wanted the inside scoop on what could be expected during this event and sought out an expert on Indian Weddings - they went straight to Trisha Cranor of Working Brides.

During a T.V. spot that took place Tuesday evening on the 7:30 showing of ET, Trisha was asked a number of questions pertaining to the festivities and the garb, including what we could expect Katy to wear as her bridal attire.

"I don't know, it could be anything. I would expect a lot of red, but there's been rumors of latex!" Trisha said. She went on to detail the intricacies of the ceremony such as the inclusion of elephants, or possibly a camel and even a white horse, as Russel will be arriving on the steed per the custom in a Hindu coupling.

It's no surprise that Entertainment Tonight called upon the expertise of Trisha Cranor. Her wedding planning service, Working Brides, has worked with hundreds of Desi brides in recent years, helping them plan unique Indian weddings through the Metro D.C. area and as far west as Arizona.

"I'm not surprised at all that Katy Perry would choose such a themed event. It may seem extravagant but the ceremony and festivities are amazing and what bride doesn't deserve this level of celebration."
