Kayentis attended the roundtable discussion about HIT adoption organized by the Governor of Massachussetts

Philippe Berna, CEO of Kayentis, attended the roundtable discussion organized by Governor of Massachussets Deval Patrick about the way to move quickly toward widespread HIT adoption.

Provider of secure integrated software solutions for capture, digitalization and management of handwritten data, Kayentis targets the Healthcare and Life Sciences market, by offering to manage clinical and marketing data, focusing on patient. Kayentis solutions are partly based on research and development activities conducted by Hewlett Packard & Hitachi, partly based on Anoto Digital Pen & Paper technology. They combine the best that the physical and the digital world have to offer: the easiest data collection method for patients and physicians (pen & paper), offering the highest quality of data, combined with all the advantages of electronic data management (accurate timestamps, audit trail functionalities, real-time access, alerts, etc.). They are today the more efficient in terms of quick deployment and costs management.

As part of the reform of the healthcare system which is conducted currently by the US government, Philippe Berna, Kayentis CEO, attended a roundtable discussion with Governor of Massachussetts Deval Patrick. The aim of this meeting was to discuss how to promote a widespread HIT adoption. It showed that software solutions can be a real accelerator for the healthcare plan by improving patient care while managing health care costs.

Philippe Berna presented first the two French clusters, System@TIC and Medicen, and their joint actions for innovative solutions which are focused on patients, by enhancing the value of innovative SBE presence, and their will to be established locally. Philippe Berna took part to the discussion by reminding that to get quickly a high adoption rate, it is essential to promote very simple and intuitive devices to connect naturally and rapidly people (patients, doctors, family, social ...): « Pen and paper, thanks to their simplicity and conviviality are today the best path to not exclude anybody and to provide a rapid growth in HIT implementation. Providing real-time access to very high quality patient data, our solutions promote epidemiological database, allowing an acceleration of research ».

In terms of health and social follow-up of patients (home care and services management), Kayentis solutions provide advanced functionalities. « They promote patient protection by allowing the collection of patients consents in a secured and anonymous way and by offering the possibility to send real-time alerts in case of adverse event» concludes Philippe Berna.
