Another honor for longtime KBE staff member Tony Mancini
Farmington, CT, April 29, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Central Connecticut State University honored KBE Building Corp.’s Tony Mancini with its 2015 Alumni of the Year award at a ceremony on April 20.
Mancini earned a B.S. in Construction Engineering from CCSU in 1991. He also holds an A.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Waterbury State Technical College and is OSHA 30 Hour Certified for Construction Safety.
CCSU Award Criteria
The CCSU awards were instituted to recognize alumni and friends of CCSU or its predecessors who have made significant contributions to help advance the mission of the university and bring positive recognition to Central Connecticut State University.
The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to a graduate of Central Connecticut State University for outstanding professional and/or personal achievements, bringing credit to himself/herself and, in turn, credit to Central Connecticut State University.
21 Years of Success with KBE
Since joining KBE in 1994, Mancini has excelled in a number of roles, from Project Superintendent to Vice President of Field Operations, a position he has held since 2013.
Throughout his career, he has managed hundreds of millions of dollars in construction contracts and has been instrumental in building relationships with KBE’s clients and subcontractors.
Current Construction Projects
Mancini is currently overseeing several projects at KBE, including the new Litchfield County Courthouse, a $70M Design-Build project now underway in Torrington, CT.
He most recently led the project team for the award-winning renovation and addition at Harvard Ellis Technical High School in Danielson, CT, which KBE completed eight months ahead of schedule.
Mancini has also won numerous awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors – Connecticut Chapter and the Connecticut Building Congress for projects within the government, higher education, K-12 education, and retail markets.
Active Community Involvement
Mancini participates in KBE’s corporate philanthropic program, 50 Ways to Make a Difference, and other community outreach initiatives, including the ACE student mentoring program and the AGC/ASC student construction competition.
Established in 2009 to celebrate the firm’s new ownership, name change, and 50 years in business, 50 Ways has helped KBE associates donate more than $1.5 million and 9,000 volunteer hours to charitable causes benefiting children, seniors, and military veterans in Connecticut and Maryland.
