KBE Building Corporation Goes the Extra Mile

Team members attended the 9th Annual Walk to End Homelessness

New London Homeless Hospitality Center benefited from KBE Building Corporation’s (KBE) dedicated volunteers at the 9th Annual Walk to End Homelessness, held on April 24.

The two-mile walk, which was co-sponsored by Connecticut College, spanned throughout Huntington Street to downtown New London. Along the route, Connecticut College students organized three pit stops featuring special activities to raise awareness about homelessness.

Four KBE staff members and their families attended the event and raised money for the cause. The construction firm also donated money on behalf of its corporate philanthropic program, 50 Ways to Make a Difference.

This year's Walk to End Homelessness raised a record $20,000 and saw a record attendance of 500 people. The total proceeds aided the New London Homeless Hospitality Shelter and all its programs.

All Because of 50 Ways

KBE staff member’s participation in the 9th Annual Walk to Help End Homelessness is possible because of the firm’s corporate philanthropic program, 50 Ways to Make a Difference.

Established in 2009 to celebrate the firm’s new ownership, name change, and 50 years in business, 50 Ways has helped KBE associates donate more than $1.7 million and 11,734 volunteer hours to charitable causes benefiting children, seniors, and military veterans in Connecticut and Maryland.

Both KBE’s CT and MD offices are looking forward to the firm’s signature philanthropic event, Gift of Gobble, which will take place in November. Through Gift of Gobble, KBE prepares and delivers Thanksgiving meal kits to needy families in CT and MD.
