FIRST-TIME SPONSOR

We hosted the Keen Wealth Classic cyclocross race as a result of our close partnership with Big D Cycling and our active desire to be involved with community events. We are honored to be able to help get it started and hope this event will become a Midwest staple for years to come.

Bill Keen, Founder and CEO, Keen Wealth Advisors

"We hosted the Keen Wealth Classic cyclocross race as a result of our close partnership with Big D Cycling and our active desire to be involved with community events," said Bill Keen, Founder and CEO of Keen Wealth Advisors. "We are honored to be able to help get it started and hope this event will become a Midwest staple for years to come." The Big D Cycling team competes throughout the U.S. and participates in bicycle rodeos to conduct helmet fittings and bicycle repair for children in the local community.

Stephen Whalen, who serves as president of Big D Cycling team's Board of Directors, says that the team joined the cause to support Bill Keen and what he does for the cycling community. In 2013, along with The Kansas Cycling Association, Keen announced "The Keen Wealth Cup" – a perpetual annual traveling trophy that is awarded to the cycle team with the best overall record in the Kansas Cycling Association's best all-around team series for a given year.

"Bill does so much for the cycling community and the community as a whole. He goes 'all in' with everything he does, so the whole team pitched in to show him that we are willing to support his efforts," said Whalen. "And what a gorgeous location to get out and show our support!"

BEAUTIFUL SETTING FOR A RIDE

At the Keen Wealth Classic, cyclists competed for the chance to win medals and cash prizes. The venue, Wyandotte County Lake Park, offered beautiful views of the lake and start/finish line from the spectator area. The after race party was well attended and featured live music from Colby & Mole, grilled bratwursts, and ice cold beverages. "We were excited to host the inaugural event. I’ve even been joining the team on my road bike on their training rides, as they prepared for the event," added Keen.

KIDS RIDE FREE

0Little cyclists competed for a chance to win a medal in the kids' event. Junior riders raced free, thanks to Keen Wealth Advisors and the Kansas Cycling Association. The team at Keen Wealth Advisors wanted to make it as easy as possible for families to find engaging, fun activities to get their kids outside and active. "By taking care of their race fees, we hope to give all kids the opportunity to try something new and maybe develop a love for cycling," said Keen.

COMMUNITY IS KEY

Keen Wealth Advisors is proud to be a part of vibrant community activities. While Keen said he was excited for all the riders, he was especially cheering for the Big D Cycling Team. "We are happy to talk about planning for the future and ways our team can get involved with local groups and activities," said Keen.
