Keenspot, Launches Shockwave, Darkside, one of the World's first 3D Online Comic Book Series

Comic is a Prequel to the Movie Shockwave, Darkside 3D, produced by Christian Arnold-Beutel, Pipeline Entertainment and Red Giant Media

Webcomic Book Publisher Keenspot today launched its 3D webcomic prequel of the independent film Shockwave, Darkside, a story about the last great war, set on the moon. The first issue will begin appearing on Keenspot's website at Shockwave.Keenspot.com beginning on October 4, 2010 with subsequent parts of the story coming every Monday thereafter. Readers will have the option to read each page in standard full color 2D as well as a stunning 3D anaglyph version, which is the first time that a web comic book series has been made in 3D. This Webcomic will also mark the first official movie tie-in on-going comic book series to debut in a digital medium and not as a publication. Written by the movie's own writer/director Jay Weisman the Shockwave, Darkside comic book follows the adventures of Private Sam Simms, a newly recruited medic, as he teams up with a rogue's gallery of mercenaries, war dogs and assassins in some of the biggest battles of the 'Shockwave' universe. From the moment he steps out of an exploding transport in his very first battle, Sam grabs the reader by the collar and takes them on a thrilling journey through a landscape of interplanetary conflict that launches the Shockwave, Darkside saga.

Benny Powell, a veteran comic book writer and editor with credits on such properties as X-Men, Fantastic Four, Robotech and many more, has handled ghostwriting for numerous national best-selling, award-winning books in both fiction and non-fiction. His current comic project, Keenspot's Wayward Sons: Legends, is a rapidly growing success for the site and may be the most popular sci-fi full-page webcomic to date. Wayward Son's artists will also handle the art chores of Shockwave, Darkside with Benny Powell handling the editing, lettering and a special twist effect.

The Shockwave, Darkside film, shot in 3D, finished Production in May 2010 and is being produced by produced by Pipeline Entertainment and Red Giant Media and written and directed by Jay Weisman. The cast includes Bill Sage ("Precious", "NCIS"), Mei Melançon ("X-Men: The Last Stand," "The L Word"), Sonequa Martin ("The Good Wife", "Yelling to the Sky"), Rich Ceraulo ("90210," "Blood Night") Alexander Cendese ("Law & Order")

Writer/Director Jay Weisman is an award-winning filmmaker and won "Best American Short Film" at the Avignon Film Festival for the drama Surveillances, screening in over twenty film festivals worldwide. He has written, produced and directed interactive projects and video games for "Dilbert", "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Snoopy," "Stuart Little 2" and Comedy Central. Weisman, who is represented by Pipeline Entertainment, is a graduate of NYU Film School and currently resides in Los Angeles.

The film is executive produced by Christian Arnold-Beutel, executive producer of many films including, ""Ironclad", Hybrid", "Penelope," "Stuck," and "King of Fighters" and is produced by Dan DeFilippo and Dave Marken of Pipeline Entertainment ("Last Day of Summer," "Wednesdays at A's"), and by Aimee Schoof, Isen Robbins and Kevin Fox of Red Giant Media ("Hebrew Hammer," "XX/XY," "Alphabet Killer").
