"February has always been the biggest month for new therapy patients," says Dr. Don Hafer, a neuropsychologist and director of behavioral health at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. "There's a letdown phenomenon in January. You push, you push, you push all through the holidays. There's a little bit of a high, and then in February you crash."

The crash refers to the hangover that you get after the constant partying and spending that happens during the holidays. It is like the annual hangover that nobody seems to escape and is a pain when getting on with your life and your career.
This energy inside of a person during the crash; depression, tardiness, exhaustion, frustration, stress whatever you want to call it is always there. The energy inside of us cannot be destroyed. It can only be transferred from one body to another and the most constructive and healthiest way to get rid of it is to release it in the atmosphere.

The best way for this release is exercise but not the physical one. Mental toughness is needed for this. Doctors agree that mental workouts should be at least as long as the physical ones.

This exercise doesn't mean tweaking up your brain by doing quizzes and reading books. It means relaxing the most important muscle in your body. Completely shutting it off so that it can recharge itself. This helps in exterminating all the negative auras around you.

Pick your Poison

To do the above stated exercise it depends a lot on the kind of person you are and your vices.

TV or music could help you to shut off your brain but make sure it is something that doesn't require any focus. Use these instruments to block the outside world, NOT to create a new one in your head.

Good sleep is very important. If an insomniac or have any other sleeping disorders, consult a doctor. Get the sleep you need which is usually upto 8 hours.

Fitness has two categories; mental and physical. Both are important. Maintain a balance between the two. Eat right, sleep right, run, swim, play sports, just do something to keep your body moving.

Try to take out 15 to 30 minutes from your schedule and just sit somewhere out in the open, preferably your backyard and shut out the outside world.

Yoga, Kabala, prayers or just sitting on grass in your backyard for 30 minutes with your closed and heavy breathing is more than enough if your not a hardcore mantra fan. Give it a go, you might like it.

Switch to proteins after 6 pm. It helps your digestion and doesn't cause any stomach problems.
Whenever you have a long day, get home, run yourself a bath, put your favorite music on jazz, zeppelin, Madonna whatever works for you. Get in the bath and take a nap. When you get out you would feel reborn.

You ensure mental fitness productivity will increase dramatically. You will be prepared to take more risks and will feel much more at peace.
