Kelley Kronenberg Continues Firm-Wide Philanthropic Initiative With a Girl Scout Cookies Collection for the Troops
Firm collects more than 300 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies for donation
Fort Lauderdale, FL, April 8, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Kelley Kronenberg, a diverse full-service business law firm, organized a firm-wide Girl Scout Cookies collection for military troops as part of its ongoing Kelley Kronenberg Cares (KKC) program. KKC was created to provide opportunities for the firm’s attorneys and staff to personally commit to civic and charitable efforts in the cities where the firm’s offices are located.
Nicknamed “Operation Cookie,” this is the firm’s third KKC project. Throughout January and February, members of Kelley Kronenberg’s Florida offices competed in an interoffice competition to purchase and collect cookies for our troops overseas. Together, the firm’s office members collected more than 300 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies for donation. Through a partnership with the Girl Scouts of South Florida, the collected cookies were sent to troops overseas on March 8, 2016.
“Kelley Kronenberg’s Operation Cookie initiative is a way for the members of the firm to support our local communities and the Girl Scouts, while sending a little taste of home to our soldiers abroad,” said Howard Wander, Principal Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Kelley Kronenberg. “The courageous men and women who serve in our military do so much to protect the freedoms we all enjoy. This gesture is one small way to show our appreciation and support to those who work so diligently to protect us.”
Wander’s office collected more than 170 boxes of cookies to win the interoffice competition. “We took great pride in collecting so many cookies for donation to our troops,” said Wander. “I know that Girl Scout Cookies are among the most requested items of those serving in our armed forces, and our cookie donation is a meaningful way for us to show that Kelley Kronenberg cares and to say ‘thank you’ to our brave soldiers.”
The firm’s previous KKC projects have included a statewide school supplies drive for students as well as a Thanksgiving food drive, in addition to the firm’s regular philanthropic work.
“Supporting community and charitable initiatives has always been a priority for our firm. This program allows our attorneys and staff to get involved on a local level and have the opportunity to see the results of their volunteered time and efforts,” said Wander.
