Kelowna Group Introduces the Anti Bullying 'Own It Campaign'
The Own It Campaign aims to create awareness for anti-bullying.
Online, December 5, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Kelowna: Bullying is an ever growing problem with our youth today and has hit the spotlight with recent tragedies.
With this in mind, Smart Betty Kelowna, Loyal Hair Therapy and 99.9 Sun FM have teamed up to raise positive public awareness of individuality and unity with the main goal being to end bullying and cyber-bullying. They have taken a position of compassion, support and unity and are proud to launch the Own It Campaign. With the continued prevalence of teen and young adult suicides directly caused by bullying, the Own It Campaign takes a stand for those who feel silenced.
As part of their campaign, the team has designed a t-shirt imprinted with the slogan 'I AM ME'. The strongest statement of individuality is to own who you truly are, regardless of perceived differences. Vouchers for the shirts are being sold through the Smart Betty Kelowna website for $20. The proceeds from the sale of these t-shirts will benefit the Kids Help Phone and the Sun FM's Have A Heart Radiothon.
Especially at this time of year, Bruce Maki, owner of the Smart Betty Kelowna franchise, commented, 'What better way is there to promote healing, awareness and support for this serious issue? Let our youth take back their life today'! Daniel Lattanzio, President of Smart Betty, added, 'We would like to see this situation eradicated and hopefully the public will jump on the bandwagon and purchase the t-shirts to make the campaign a success.'
Congratulations to the team for taking the effort to promote this worthy cause!
