Kenny Johnson (Bates Motel, Sons of Anarchy) Starring in "Check Point"

Kenny Johnson is starring in "Check Point," a film exposing real life terrorism and the sleeper cells they represent in America; with an intriguing script, co-written by A.J. Perez and Thomas J. Churchill, "Check Point" intertwines today's headlines and could stir as much controversy as the American Sniper.

Kenny is known for his roles in "Bates Motel, as well as "The Shield" and "Sons Of Anarchy", having a grasp of the movie plot far beyond his acting credits.  His character (Roy) is that of a vagrant with serious concerns about an invasion of America, only to be initially dismissed by the Sheriff.

It is only after his persistent ramblings about an eminent attack that he is taken seriously, as questions and tempers confront the quiet beach community where, contrary to the inhabitant's opinions, everyone does NOT know everything about everyone else.  Real life terrorism and sleeper cells are always in today's headlines and Kenny Johnson took his role to heart.  Filming in the authentic location of Port City, North Carolina, and access to current and former military personnel, helped get Kenny into character.  He spent time getting to know former soldiers with PTSD, and the conflict of trying to deal with a "normal life" on their return, thus allowing him to breathe truth into his role and deliver a performance of strength and commitment.  While 'Roy' finds himself returning after three tours of duty as a Marine to find his family wiped out by a Tornado; not having been informed by his Marine command of the tragic loss, 'Roy' faces both a personal disaster and the trauma of war, creating a PTSD situation.

The emergency within the community in "Check Point" defines how the film weaves both the prevailing threat of domestic  terrorism with individual awareness and the responsibility of diligence.  "Check Point" presents the world in which we now live, and Kenny Johnson brings a character to the screen who, although he finds himself wanting to 'check- out', finds an inner strength greater than his own internal suffering to prevail over the brewing master plan to wipe out our way of life.  Events throughout the film, being based on both FBI files and Homeland Security arrests, expose a reality few want to acknowledge, but this imaginative and creative film project brings it into reality.

Kenny Johnson not only brings a soul to his character, but a greater soul to the film where audiences will appreciate  his performance and the thought provoking story line from beginning to end.  An actor of such talent and dedication to this role, in particular, will certainly enhance his career and reveal a depth of performance that will be recognized by the entire industry when it  opens in theaters on labor day of 2016.
