Key Note Report: UK Direct Marketing Sector Continues to Grow Strongly, Boosted by Demand for Digital Advertising
Key Note's new market update reports that the overall Direct Marketing sector has grown by 6%, which they attribute to the growing use of mobile, social media and video advertising.
Teddington, United Kingdom, July 31, 2015 (Newswire.com) - According to Direct Marketing, a new Market Update from market intelligence provider Key Note, the UK direct marketing sector is enjoying a period of strong and sustained growth at the moment, with the overall value of the market estimated to have increased by a further 6% in 2014.
Direct marketing covers a wide range of marketing channels, including display advertising in newspapers and magazines, direct mail and door drops, e-mail marketing, digital search advertising, telemarketing, mobile marketing and social media campaigns, among others. To communicate directly with the customer, direct marketing uses many forms of advertising channels and, as might be expected, the growth rates reported by these various channels vary widely. A common feature of many of these marketing avenues, however, is the growing popularity of digital advertising, which continues to rise and could account for more than half of all advertising expenditure in 2015. The rise in the popularity of digital advertising is mainly attributed to the appeal of mobile, social media and video advertising, all of which are expected to generate strong advertising growth for some years to come. The level of digital penetration in the advertising market in the UK is also among the highest in the world and is creating new opportunities for the direct marketing industry
Conversely, other forms of direct marketing appear to be on a downward spiral measured in terms of advertising expenditure spent on them. Included here are print newsbrands and print magazines, both of which have recorded falling revenues for some years now, including in 2014.
