Instead, Irene and her team have opted for a more open and collaborative space. Similarly, they have added a lot of color and artwork to their office to inspire everyone as they work.

“Of course it’s also important to hire the right people,” she continued. “There is nothing worse for a team’s mood than having negativity in the group. This may sound a little blunt, but don’t hire people who are going to upset everyone else. Cultural fit is extremely important in recruitment.”

She also suggested celebrating every little success. She pointed out that everyone works hard and deserves to be recognized for what they have done. “We try to celebrate a success at least once a week,” she said. “Even if it’s a little win, it’s worth acknowledging.”
