Ukraine’s famed Khortytsa (Hor-Ti-Tsa) Platinum Vodka received a Double Gold Medal in the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Since its introduction in 2000, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) has become the most respected and influential spirits competition in the world. Emphasizing integrity and impartiality, the SFWSC takes great pride in ensuring that all entries are treated with equal care and consideration by panels of carefully selected spirits-industry experts.

"Khortytsa Platinum is an incredible vodka at a great price. The smooth taste of this vodka, offered at a suggested retail price of about $15, has made it a winner with US consumers."

Steve Ackerman, National Sales Director, Global Spirits

According to the competition’s website, “An SFWSC medal has come to be the most reliable indication of spirits excellence, and spirits recognized as medal-worthy by our judges are understood around the world by both the trade and consumers to be the best the industry has to offer.”

Although still relatively new to the US market, the Khortytsa Distillery is well known globally and has been named among the world’s best distilleries. In fact, according to the Wine & Spirits Research (IWSR) Agency, Khortytsa was the third largest international selling global vodka brand at 6.4 million cases, and continues to gain ground among US consumers.

Khortytsa Platinum is an incredible vodka at a great price,” says Steve Ackerman, national sales director, Global Spirits, the brand’s owner.  “The smooth taste of this vodka, offered at a suggested retail price of about $15, has made it a winner with US consumers.”

Award-winning Khortytsa Platinum is among the top 3 vodka brands in the world. The Khortytsa Distillery is located in the Ukrainian city of Zaporozhe near Khortytsa Island. This ancient island’s history dates back thousands of years and reaches the roots of civilization. It is a sacred place in Ukraine -- considered to be the cradle and heart of Ukrainian national pride --and is one of the country’s seven wonders.

Built in 2003, the Khortytsa Distillery is among the world’s finest distilleries. It uses a local organic filter containing schungite (a unique natural mineral) which allows it to get as close as possible to the structure of natural water. The vodka, made from water that is sourced from artesian wells, undergoes a multi-layered filtration process using natural mineral filters made of organic schungite, cherry birch and alder-tree charcoal filters, and quartz. Khortytsa Platinum is five-times distilled using state-of-the-art technology, and is also one of the few types of vodka in the world to undergo an additional platinum filtration process, which lends it a soft, balanced finish.

Currently, there are four items within the Khortytsa line imported to the United States: Khortytsa Platinum, which is the most popular item in the line, retailing for $15.99 per 750 ml.; Khortytsa Ice, which is specially formulated to have the bottle turn blue when the vodka is perfectly chilled, retails for $15.99 per 750 ml.; Khortytsa Honey Pepper, which offers a spicy zing to a variety of cocktails, retails for $15.99 per 750 ml., and Khortytsa De Luxe for vodka connoisseurs, is a “super premium” vodka with a suggested retail of $29.99 for a 750 ml. bottle.
