Kia Forte Saves Conroe, Tx Girls' Lives
Online, August 13, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Conroe, Texas - August 11, 2010 - Two local Conroe, Texas sisters, Brenda (16) and Courtney (15) were involved in a car accident on July 28th, 2010. The Caney Creek students were on their way home from 'Volleyball Away Camp'.
Driving a brand new 2010 Kia Forte purchased 5 days earlier from Cowboy Kia in Conroe, the girls were at an intersection near the school and involved in a life threatening accident. A 1-Ton "dually" pick up came through the intersection - going over approximately 50 MPH -- and hit the front and passenger side of the Forte.
Skid marks at the scene were over 40 yards long - but despite trying to stop, the driver hit the Forte - and the McCleskey girls - creating an impact that deployed all airbags - ultimately "totaling" the 5 day old car!
The front, passenger side tire was tilted at a 45 degree angle, the radiator was demolished and the engine pushed back. Additionally, the windshield was cracked and the passenger door was smashed.
Father of the girls, Rick McCleskey says, "That Kia did save my daughters lives." Both Brenda and Courtney were taken from the scene by ambulance and released. The officers that arrived at the scene told McCleskey, "Out of all the cars the Kia was the best pick - I have seen many accidents! They are lucky to be alive because of that Kia." McCleskey, grateful that the girls did not receive life threatening injuries, says, "I have never had a Kia. I have always been a Chevy or Ford Guy. I decided to look at a Kia because I researched them and compared price, quality and safety features. I am so grateful my daughters were safe - that Kia saved their lives. I am grateful they are alive and that we bought a Kia."
McCleskey says he and his wife both agree, saying, "Parents, after seeing this car, and hearing this story, would, without a doubt, consider a Kia and it would help them decide which car would be the safest and the best car for their teen or themselves. Just think, it was bought from Cowboy Kia, where even the salesman came up to the hospital to check on the teens he just sold the car to. You could not ask for more in a true story that would make your car and your store stand out above the rest."
According to U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT Rankings & Reviews, the Kia Forte ranks #5 out of 31 affordable small cars, based in part on the many Forte safety features and solid safety ratings. The Forte also won the National Auto Dealer Association's "Car of the year" in its US debut and one of only eight small cars to earn a "Top Safety Pick" Award from the insurance industry in 2010.
Clearly, the Kia Forte stands out in the smaller car market - but, in the case of the McCleskey Family from Conroe, Texas, the Kia stands out in their hearts as well.
