KidzMondo Doha Becomes First Certified Autism Center™ in the Middle East

Kidzmondo Doha has received training and certification in autism, making them the first Certified Autism Center™ in the Middle East. This designation demonstrates Kidzmondo’s commitment to providing the best service possible to all guests. The Certified Autism Center™ program from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education helps ensure that staff have the training, tools, and skills needed to work with guests with autism and other sensory needs. As part of the Certified Autism Center™ program, KidzMondo Doha will also receive an onsite audit by IBCCES that will allow them to provide their guests with sensory guides, pre-travel planning tools and other resources to ensure that their visit is a success.

KidzMondo Doha is an international edutainment park for children, featuring a self-sufficient city built for and managed solely by children. This mini-city has its own economy and currency, public services and over 80 different professional role-play activities contained within. It is a safe, interactive and educational environment where kids simulate a profession, wear the respective uniforms, and perform the role of that profession. The indoor facility in Doha is one of the most visited family attractions in Qatar. By completing training and certification in autism, KidzMondo is increasing autism awareness not only within their organization but also the community, allowing children with autism or other sensory disorders to feel welcomed and safe when visiting.

Ali Kazma, Founder of KidzMondo in the Middle East and CEO of Aura Entertainment stated, “We are in the business of entertaining and educating children; we fuel on making kids happy, so when it comes to children with special conditions working with them very rewarding. We are committed to autism awareness and will do all that is in our power to contribute and put a smile on every child’s face.”

For almost 20 years, IBCCES has been the industry leader in autism and cognitive disorder training and certification, working with education, healthcare and corporate professionals to ultimately improve the quality of life for individuals with these disorders.

Parents with children on the autism spectrum often find choosing vacation and recreation options a challenge due to sensory needs, dietary restrictions and safety concerns. IBCCES recognized that many families with children who have special needs have limited recreation and travel options. More parents are seeking out destinations that have completed research-based training and professional review as they review search for options. In response to this need, IBCCES created training and certification programs specifically for the hospitality and travel industry.

“The need is growing globally for all organizations to be able to welcome individuals and families with autism and sensory disorders. We provide an evidence-based and proven method to ensure staff can have more positive interactions with their friends and neighbors, as well as visitors,” says Myron Pincomb, IBCCES Board Chairman. “Certification takes the commitment beyond autism-friendly and provides a way for organizations to ensure all individuals have access to resources. We are excited to partner with KidzMondo Doha and look forward to more organizations in the Middle East taking steps toward inclusion, especially in light of the fast growth of the entertainment industry in the region.”

IBCCES also created AutismTravel.com, a free online resource for parents that lists certified destinations and connects families to other resources and each other. Each destination listed on the site has met Certified Autism Center (CAC) requirements.
