Kim Lorang (Cloth and Hair Shot TD for Bolt and Cloudy with a chance of meatballs) Interview
Online, December 14, 2009 (Newswire.com) - "Our teams for Disney's "Bolt" had reference to live action movies and the incredible artistry of folks like Byron Howard and Jeff Ranjo and other artists who designed what they wanted to see in the cloth. Suzi Polk Little and Pete Megow had brilliant ways of managing the details of how to manage the cloth pipeline and created awesome tools for the animation and technical teams. At the heart of the effort was the amazing cloth solver developed by Murilo Coutinho. At first the cloth was to be done all with Posed Spaced Deformers, but John Lasseter did not approve of the look, so our cloth team pulled a rabbit out of our hat at the eleventh hour and came up with brilliant and beautiful results for "Bolt" in record time.
