Kona Tanning Company's Tantress Katie to Race for Team Wide Open Baja in the 4th Annual All-Female

Over 150 4-wheel offroad vehicles will join together to participate in one of the industry's largest all-female races to raise funds for Cedars-Sinai Women's' Breast Cancer Research Center. This year's event will take place in Barstow, California.

Kona Tanning Company's "Tantress Katie" has been chosen to race for Team Wide Open Baja in the 4th Annual Powder Puff Race for the Cure. Over 150 4-wheel offroad vehicles will join together to participate in one of the industry's largest all-female races to raise funds for Cedars-Sinai Women's' Breast Cancer Research Center. This year's event will take place in Barstow, California, October 9-10, 2009.

"I'm definitely scared, I've never raced before!" says Katie. "I tried to find a pink neck brace to support the cause and my neck, but had no luck. I just hope my racing will help my clients, family and friends see that everyone can show support in their own way, and every bit of attention to the event helps. The goal is to raise money for Cedars-Sanai breast cancer research, and the more who know the race is happening, the more money we can raise!"

As the Operations Manager for Wide Open, Nick Johnson will be preparing Katie for the race of her life, in a race car worth close to $100,000. This weekend marks Wide Open Baja's first year participating, and they're looking forward to a hefty turnout this year, and many years ahead.
