Laboratory Testing Inc. Nadcap Accreditation Has Been Renewed By Performance Review Institute

Online, September 22, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The Nadcap Accreditation held by Laboratory Testing Inc. (LTI) of Hatfield, PA USA has been re-approved for Materials Testing services and ISO/IEC 17025 compliance. Laboratory Testing Inc. is a testing and metrology laboratory in business since 1984 which specializes in materials testing, nondestructive testing, specimen machining, failure analysis, dimensional inspection and calibration services. The laboratory's materials testing and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditations were re-approved for another 18 months following an audit by the Performance Review Institute, the managing organization for the Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation) Program. The new Nadcap accreditation certificates are valid through April 30, 2013.

LTI's Materials Testing Accreditation covers a wide-range of destructive testing and related services performed by the laboratory including chemical analysis, mechanical testing, metallography, elemental analysis, spectroscopy, wet chemistry, microhardness, corrosion, heat treating, specimen machining and evaluation of welds. Stress rupture, bend, hardness, impact and tensile testing are some of the Nadcap accredited mechanical testing services. Elemental analysis, mass spectroscopy and atomic emission spectroscopy to ASTM specifications are included in the accredited chemistry services. The range of approved metallography services covers alpha case, grain size, case depth, decarburization, microcleanliness and macroetching, also to ASTM specifications.

The ISO/IEC 17025 scope includes all of the materials testing and nondestructive testing services that are approved in the Nadcap Materials and Nondestructive Testing Accreditations held by Laboratory Testing Inc.

Nadcap is the Performance Review Institute's industry-managed program for special processes in the aerospace industry. Accreditation is in accordance with SAE Aerospace Standard AS7003. Laboratory Testing Inc. was first accredited for materials testing in 1994. LTI has also been Nadcap accredited in Nondestructive Testing for liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic inspection methods since 1992, with the current certificate valid through July 31, 2012.
