Lake Las Vegas Rowing Activities 2018
Summer is here and the Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club is doing amazing things.
HENDERSON, Nev., June 12, 2018 (Newswire.com) - In case you missed it, a lot is going on with the Lake Las Vegas Rowing Club (LLVRC) these days. From starting summer rowing camps in June to cheering on local junior rowers doing great things, the LLVRC is growing and getting recognized in 2018.
Summertime is here, and the kids are out of school. Now is the best time to get them signed up to try rowing with a LLVRC summer rowing camp at Lake Las Vegas. The five-day-long rowing camps will start in June and are available to new athletes ages 13-18. No previous experience or special equipment required. For more information, please go to www.llvrc.org or call Jim Andersen at (702) 625-2724.
Students who want to take the sport of rowing to the next level can join the LLVRC and compete in rowing competitions throughout the United States. Most recently, the LLVRC team of 8th graders and high schoolers completed their first competitive season, with six of the 11 LLVRC crews placing in the top 11. One member of the club, Isabella Fimbres, earned a rowing scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin after only two years of training with Jim Anderson and the LLVRC.
In other news, three local high school rowers with LLVRC were selected for USRowing Junior National Team camps this summer. Isabella Fimbres, Gabriel Kristof, and Meghan Schulz were all invited to participate in U.S. Rowing camps, making them among the best junior rowers in the country. GO USA!
