Larisa Stow on Underground EU Tour

Larisa Stow brings her mantra-jam band music from "Rock on Sat Nam!" to Europe on a word-of-mouth solo tour.

With the release of the new album, "Rock on Sat Nam!" by Larisa Stow & Shakti Tribe, the lead singer has leaped onto the continent for a word-of-mouth-media EU tour. "The feedback on the streets of EU for their new release has been amazing and we are excited to have Larisa performing here live," notes manager Leanne Wood. "In putting her lyrics of peace and harmony to a rock beat, Larisa is already breaking a lot of rules, so why not break a few rules of touring?" adds Wood.

In Italy (or perhaps France or England) right now, Stow sees no problem with this approach to getting her music heard. "We just sort of swoop into a city, locate friends and yoga aficionados, and take things from there," says Stow. "Sometimes you get added to a gig that night, or get to play music during a workshop, and sometimes you play at someone's place. If I can sing about universal unity and peace, I'm happy to do it to raise awareness and funds for a related cause," she adds with a smile.

Embracing rock after a 10-year search for a way to infuse the art of mantra into popular music, Stow welcomes the spirituality to be found in everyday life. "I believe that music is the bridge that brings people together," says Stow. "When I integrate sounds from another culture, I feel like I am embracing it, declaring our oneness," she states. The title of her latest album combines English and Sanskrit and may be translated as a call to "Live a Truthful Life."

On July 4th, the album launched with a name-your-price offer on the artist's website. "Even after the special promotion ends, there will always be at least one free track available," notes Wood. "In addition, everyone can enjoy Larisa's music on YouTube," she adds.

Emotional responses are greeting Larisa Stow's music in person and in print. For example, Shannon Nies in VISION Magazine writes that Stow is "passionate about closing the bridge between different people and cultures," and that Stow's music "is about awakening the leader and visionary within ourselves."

About Larisa Stow
At the turn of the century, as the promise of the "big record deal" hung in the air, Larisa walked away to learn how to create music as a pure expression of love. She worked with Thomas Ashley-Farrand (author of "Healing Mantras") and then explored kirtan (devotional call-and-response music) and chant music. "What I found," she states, "was deeper into music and deeper into my soul." Today, Stow is delighted to mix spiritually-inspired lyrics, catchy melodies and pop grooves.

Larisa Stow sees this work as pivotal in positively touching people's lives.
