Larson Electronics Releases 75 kVA Power Distribution Transformer, 480V to 208Y/120V 3PH

KEMP, Texas, August 14, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a 75 kVA portable power distribution transformer that converts three-phase 480V AC electrical current into three-phase 208Y/120V AC. This power distribution system allows operators to safely tap into and distribute 480V AC power from generators and direct grid power.

The MPD-480V.3PH-75KVA-208Y.120V-3X100A.2P portable power distribution system allows operators the ability to power their 208Y/120V equipment from a single system. A customer-provided cord guides 480V three-phase power to the NEMA 3R 100-amp 480V three-phase primary disconnect that contains three 100-amp time delay fuses and passes 480V three-phase through the transformer. The transformer converts 480V three-phase to 208Y/120V three-phase 60Hz and passes the current to the secondary side, which has a NEMA 3R 225-amp 208Y/120V three-phase main lug only panel that is equipped with three 100-amp 2-pole 250V breakers.

Larson Electronics’ power distribution system and load assembly are mounted on a 3/16” thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to a standard 2” by 2” by 1/8” square carbon steel tubing frame. This unit comes with forklift skid pockets, locking casters and a top located eyelet for lifting with cable or chain. The transformer is grounded to the frame with a grounding lug that is provided. Suitable applications include indoor and outdoor use, construction sites, plant maintenance and turnarounds and more.
