Larson Electronics Releases Explosion Proof Fused Disconnect, CI, II, III, 400A Fuses Rated at 600V

KEMP, Texas, February 8, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of an explosion proof fused disconnect equipped with three, 400-amp time-delay fuses rated at 600 volts. This 3-pole unit features three NPT hubs and offers protection against surges of electrical systems in flammable work sites.

The EPFDS-400A-3P-3X400A.600V-TD explosion proof fused disconnect is rated for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups C and D; Class I, Zones 1 and 2, Groups IIB and IIA; Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F, and G; and Class III hazardous locations. This unit is NEMA 3, 4, 4X, 7 (C, D), and 9 (E, F, G) rated. This unit offers delayed response to surges to address pulse currents and temporary overloads associated with motors, HVAC systems and various light fixtures in flammable work sites.

Larson Electronics’ explosion proof fused disconnect has fuses that feature 10-second time delay at 500% overload and can withstand electrical surges for a specific period of time (10-15 seconds on average). This unit is made of cast aluminum and stainless-steel cover bolts with an external on/off lever that can be locked into ‘on’ or ‘off’ mode with extra room for up to three padlocks providing added security. This disconnect features a gasketed flange with O-ring to protect the unit from moisture.

Three NPT hubs are provided on the enclosure for completing electrical connections. Two 3” NPT hubs are located on the top of the unit and one 0.5” NPT hub is located on the bottom with a wire size compatibility of #2-600MCM and can be mounted to flat surfaces. Suitable applications include motors, HVAC systems, and fluorescent, HID, metal halide, mercury vapor, and high-pressure sodium bulbs.
